February 28 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's Financial Supervision Commission said that it has asked local reinsurance company EIG Re, part of local Euroins Insurance Group (EIG), to provide additional documents and information regarding its request for a license to offer new types of insurance policies.
The regulator did not provide further derails in its statement, published on Thursday.
This is the second time the FSC has asked the company to present additional information and documents, after it also did so earlier this month.
EIG Re was Bulgaria's third-largest reinsurer, with gross written premiums of 3.6 million levs ($2 million/1.8 million euro) in the first nine months of 2019, according to the latest FSC data. During the nine-month period, EIG Re booked premiums only from reinsurance policies concerning goods in transit, ships, and fire and natural forces.
