February 6 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian food ingredient producer FlavaPulse will collaborate with French technology firm ETIA Ecotechnologies, part of Norwegian Vow, on the production of pea protein concentrate, Vow said.
Using ETIA’s Safesteril technology, FlavaPulse will from next summer start production of an innovative pea protein concentrate with higher protein content and reduced bitter taste, Vow said in a press release last week.
ETIA’s Safesteril solution allows sterilisation of dry natural ingredients, using heat to reduce the microbial load of sensitive raw materials, without impacting flavour, taste, colour or moisture.
FlavaPulse said in January that it will open a plant in the Shumen Industrial Park in central Bulgaria in the spring. The site will include three silos for storing the raw material, a production building, a storage building for the final products and an office building for the administration, laboratory and control room.
The construction started in April 2022 and major works related to the silos and the buildings have been already completed.
FlavaPulse is processing yellow peas to produce pea ingredients such as protein concentrate, flour and fibre.
