June 2 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's finance ministry said that it expects the consolidated budget to show a surplus of 1.3 billion levs ($742 million/665 million euro), or 1.1% of GDP, at the end of May, down from 3 billion levs a year earlier.
Consolidated budget revenue is expected to amount to 17.6 billion levs at the end of May, or 39.7% of the full-year plan, the ministry said in a statement last week.
Consolidated budget expenditures at the end of May are projected to be equal to 34.1% of the full-year plan, or 16.3 billion levs.
In a separate statement last week, the finance ministry said that country's consolidated budget showed a surplus of 1.6 billion levs at the end of April.
In April, Bulgaria's parliament adopted changes to the country's 2020 balanced budget that envisage a deficit equivalent to 2.9% of gross domestic product (GDP), or 3.5 billion levs, to meet spending needs arising from the coronavirus pandemic.
