March 1 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's consolidated budget is expected to show a surplus of 137 million levs ($84.6 million/70 million euro) at the end of February, equivalent to 0.1% of the projected 2021 GDP, the finance ministry said.
The forecast compares to a surplus of 1.48 billion levs recorded at the end of February 2020, the ministry said in a statement on Friday.
Consolidated budget revenue is expected to be down by 103 million levs year-on-year at 7.4 billion levs in the first two months of 2021, or 15.5% of the full-year plan.
Consolidated budget expenditure is estimated at 7.2 billion levs as at end-February, or 13.8% of the full-year plan. This compares to expenditure of 6 billion levs at the end of February 2020.
In a separate statement on Friday, the finance ministry said Bulgaria's consolidated budget showed a surplus of 0.3% of GDP at the end of January.
The 2021 budget framework envisages a deficit of some 5 billion levs, including a 600 million levs buffer in case the situation with the coronavirus pandemic worsens and additional resources are needed.
