January 2 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's finance ministry said that it expects the consolidated budget to show a surplus of 1.14 billion levs ($653.4 million/582.9 million euro) at the end of 2019, equivalent to 1% of the projected 2019 gross domestic product (GDP).
The deficit was mainly due to the country's $1.256 billion deal with the US for purchase of eight F-16 fighter jets, the ministry said in a statement earlier this week.
Consolidated budget revenue is expected to be 4.2 billion levs higher on the year at 43.9 billion levs at the end of 2019, or 0.1% above the full-year plan.
Consolidated budget expenditures at the end of 2019 are projected at 45 billion levs - 2.7% below the full-year plan.
In a separate statement on Tuesday, the finance ministry said that country's consolidated budget showed a surplus of 1.3 billion levs at the end of November, equivalent to 1.1% of the projected GDP.
Bulgaria's 2019 budget targeted a deficit of 2.228 billion levs.
