August 12 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian state-owned Electricity System Operator (ESO) said that its net profit jumped to 27.2 million levs ($16.4 million/13.9 million euro) in the first half of 2020 from 7.2 million levs in the same period of 2019, due to a decrease in expenses.
ESO's operating revenue edged down to 304.3 million levs in the first six months of the year from 310.1 million levs in the comparable period of 2019, the company said in an interim financial statement.
The company lowered its operating expenses to 274.1 million levs in the review period from 303.1 million levs the year before.
ESO's assets grew to 2.75 billion levs at the end of June from 2.71 billion levs at the end of 2019.
