September 21 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian car battery manufacturer Elhim Iskra [BUL:ELHM] said on Thursday that it booked a preliminary gross loss of 28,000 levs ($15,321/14,316 euro) in the first eight months of 2023 against a loss of 394,000 levs in the comparable period of 2022.
Elhim Iskra generated sales revenue of some 28.2 million levs in January-August, the company said in a bourse filing. In comparison, the company posted sales of 30.3 million levs in the same period last year.

In August alone, the battery maker turned a preliminary loss of 173,000 levs on revenue of some 2.8 million levs. It compared to a profit of 135,000 levs on sales of 3.7 million levs in August 2022.
The Pazardzhik-based company, part of local diversified group Stara Planina Hold [BUL:SPH], projects revenue from sales of 2.4 million levs for September, down from 3.4 million levs in the same month last year.
Shares in Elhim Iskra last traded on September 12 when they closed at 0.99 levs on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange, bourse data show.
