SOFIA (Bulgaria), June 26 (SeeNews) – Bulgarian producer of electrical and gas household appliances Eldominvest will raise its annual capacity to 500,000 units by September from 400,000 now, the company said on Thursday.
The capacity increase will be a result of a 20 million lev ($16 million/10 million euro) investment programme for the period 2003-2008, Eldominvest’s public relation officer, Svetoslav Simeonov, told SeeNews in a statement.
“The investment is in two directions: increase of the production of energy-saving water heaters, and in technology upgrade,” Simeonov said.
Eldominvest, set up in 1987, produces water heaters, electric and gas cookers, and built-in cooktops. The company's combined output of various items is 330,000 units yearly. It holds a market share of 70% in Bulgaria, and exports around one-third of its production to Switzerland, Denmark, the UK, Ireland, Romania, Slovakia, Italy, Lithuania and the U.S.
