November 18 (SeeNews) - The Independent Bulgarian Energy Exchange (IBEX) day-ahead market recorded a new all-time high price of electricity for industrial consumers.
The price for November 18 is 494.74 levs ($286.16/252.96 euro) per MWh, according to data published on the website of the exchange on Wednesday.
It comes just a day after the power market saw a record-high 485.22 levs per MWh.
Bulgaria's Energy and Water Regulatory Commission has forecast the electricity price for the July 1, 2021 - June 30, 2022 period at 119 levs per MWh. However, since the start of October, the average price has been more than three times higher, at 377.70 levs
IBEX, established in 2014, holds a ten-year licence for organising an electricity exchange in Bulgaria. IBEX is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange, which acquired the company in 2017.
