June 5 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's Central Cooperative Bank [BUL:CCB] said that its standalone net profit rose by 25% on the year to some 21.5 million levs ($11.75 million/11 million euro) in the first quarter of 2023.
CCB's net interest income grew to 39.5 million levs in the reporting period, up from some 29.1 million levs a year ago, the lender said in an interim financial statement on Friday.
The bank's net fee and commission income increased to 12.9 million levs from 12.5 million levs in the first quarter of 2022.
Operating expenses edged down to 30.85 million levs in the three months through March from 31.7 million levs a year earlier.
Loans and advances increased 1.84% on the year to 3.04 billion levs at the end of March, while deposits amounted to over 7.1 billion levs.
The bank's assets expanded to 7.87 billion levs at the end of March from 7.5 billion levs a year ago and were up by 0.98% on the previous quarter.
CCB was Bulgaria's sixth largest lender by assets as of end-April, up from the 7th position held at the end of December, most recent central bank data showed.
