February 2 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria’s Central Cooperative Bank (CCB) [BUL:CCB] said that its net profit increased to 36.9 million levs ($20.55 million/18.87 million euro) in 2022 from 25.9 million levs a year earlier.
Net interest income rose by an annual 20.3% to 126.8 million levs in the review period, CCB said in an interim financial statement on Monday. In contrast, the lender recorded a 6 million levs foreign exchange loss against 2.1 million levs in 2021.
CCB’s operating expenses increased by 7.2% last year, to 144 million levs. Loans and advances to customers grew by 4.94%, reaching 3.03 billion levs, while deposits went up to 7.05 billion levs from 6.64 billion levs.
The bank's assets rose to 7.79 billion levs in 2022 from 7.38 billion levs the previous year. CCB was Bulgaria’s seventh largest lender by assets at the end of last year, according to central bank data.
As of 1430 CET on Thursday, shares in CCB traded 1.78% lower at 1.66 levs on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange.
