October 19 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's current account surplus narrowed to 1.97 billion euro ($2.26 billion) in the first eight months of 2018, compared to 3.03 billion euro in the same period of 2017, the central bank said on Friday.
The current account surplus in the January-August period was equivalent to 3.7% of the country's projected gross domestic product (GDP) in 2018, the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) said in a statement.
In August alone, Bulgaria posted a current account surplus of 1.06 billion euro, up from 861.4 million euro in August 2017.

Bulgaria closed 2017 with a current account surplus of 1.98 billion euro, compared to a surplus of 1.8 billion euro in the previous year.
