January 28 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's business climate indicator improved on a monthly comparison basis in January, the statistical office said on Friday.
The overall business sentiment indicator went up 1.5 percentage points (pp) in January, compared to December, due to increases in the industry, construction and retail trade indicators, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a monthly business climate survey.
The composite indicator in the industry sector grew the most - by 2.6 pp month-on-month, due to the reduced negativity in the industrial entrepreneurs’ assessments and expectations about the business situation of the enterprises.
"Their forecasts about the export and production activity over the next three months are also favourable," the NSI added.
The retail sector indicator increased by 1.8 pp and the business sentiment indicator in the construction sector went up 1.2 pp.
The business sentiment indicator in the services sector fell 0.6 pp month-on-month in January.
