SOFIA (Bulgaria), November 11 (SeeNews) – Bulgarian gas monopoly Bulgargaz said on Wednesday it plans to propose to the country's energy regulator to decrease by 1.63% the price at which the company sells natural gas to its wholesale clients in the first quarter of 2016, to reflect an expected drop in the price of gas deliveries.
The tariff of 408,45 levs ($237.5/212.3 euro) per 1,000 cu m which Bulgargaz plans to propose does not include Value Added Tax and excise duties, the company said in a notice on its website.
The adjustment in the wholesale natural gas tariff, made on a quarterly basis, must be approved by the energy regulator to take effect.
In September, the energy regulator cut gas prices for the fourth quarter of the year by 14.26%, in line with a request by Bulgargaz.
Bulgargaz is a subsidiary of the state-owned Bulgarian Energy Holding.
Bulgaria imports almost all the natural gas it needs from Russia through a pipeline crossing the territories of Ukraine, Moldova and Romania.
