November 1 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian medical equipment manufacturer BTL Industries said on Friday that it has decided to build a new production plant in the city of Plovdiv in order to meet growing demand.
The plant, which will employ 500 people, is expected to become operational by 2021, BTL Industries said in a statement.
The expected amount of the investment was not disclosed.
Earlier this year, BTL Industries said that its sales in the first half of 2019 nearly doubled to 101.0 million levs ($57.6 million/51.6 million euro) from 51.1 million levs in the same period of 2018.
The company's output grew to over 12,000 devices in the January-June period of this year from 9,230 devices produced in the comparable period of 2018.
Currently, BTL Industries operates a production base in Plovdiv and a research and development centre in Sofia.
The company exports its output to over 120 countries worldwide.
