March 9 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's Burgas municipality said on Monday that it has signed a 2.9 million levs ($1.7 million/1.5 million euro) deal with the Bulgarian Telecommunications Company (BTC) for the upgrade and expansion of its video surveillance system.
The expansion of the system will improve the quality of life of the local population through increasing the authorities' capacity to prevent and react to accidents, and keep the public property safe, the municipality said in a notice.
The tender for the contract attracted two offers.
The deal was signed on February 14.
BTC operates under the brand name Vivacom.
