October 18 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's BDZ Passengers, part of state-owned railway group BDZ Holding, said that it has signed a 2.9 million levs ($1.7 million/1.5 million euro) deal with local Railway - Traction for the repair of six electric locomotives.
The contract was signed on October 3, BDZ Passengers said in a notice on Thursday.
Two bidders took part in the public procurement procedure for awarding the contract.
In September, BDZ Passengers signed a 3.4 million levs deal with Railway - Traction for the repair of seven electric locomotives.
Also last month, BDZ Passengers said that it will temporarily stop servicing 14 routes due to an insufficient number of functioning locomotives. The company is expected to start servicing the routes again as of October 19.
