January 28 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC) said on Thursday that it has launched proceedings to establish whether food producer Olinesa Premium complies with a decision issued by the regulator in 2019 regarding product imitation.
In 2019, the antitrust body fined Olinesa Premium 37,000 levs ($22,900/18,900 euro) for imitating Konsul's registered trademark and mayonnaise packaging design.
The competition authority has received a letter from food maker Konsul which claims that Olinesa Premium that Olinesa Premium continues to manufacture and offer mayonnaise under the Olinesa brand with the respective packaging design, the regulator said in a statement.
Olinesa Premium, which started operating in 1994 in Kostinbrod, near Sofia, produces mayonnaise and emulsified sauces, ketchup as well as sunflower oil.
