March 16 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's consumer prices rose by an annual 3.7% in February following a 4.1% year-on-year increase in January, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Monday.
On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices added 0.1% in February, after increasing by 0.9% in the previous month, NSI said in a monthly inflation report.
Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which have the largest weight in the consumer basket, rose 6.9% year-on-year in February, while prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels grew 2.4%.
Transport prices added 3.8% year-on-year in February.
Bulgaria’s EU-harmonised consumer price index (HICP) rose 3.1% on an annual comparison basis and stayed unchanged compared to the January level.
