June 4 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's economy expanded by 2.4% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2020, slowing down from 3.1% growth in last quarter of 2019, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Thursday, citing preliminary data.
On a quarterly comparison basis Bulgaria's GDP growth also decelerated, to 0.3% in the January-March period of 2020 from 0.8% in the fourth quarter of last year, the NSI said in a statement.
Bulgaria's GDP totalled 25.6 billion levs ($14.7 billion/13.1 billion euro) at current prices in the review period, according to the data.
