SOFIA (Bulgaria), January 23 (SeeNews) – Bulgarian aluminium products maker Alcomet [BUL:6AM] will invest 69 million levs ($37.9 million/35.3 million euro) in expanding the capacity and increasing the production efficiency of its plant in Shumen, the economy ministry said on Monday.
The investment is expected to create 100 new jobs that will take Alcomet’s workforce to over 1,000, the ministry said in a statement citing a company official.
The investment project at the plant in northeastern Bulgaria envisages the introduction of a new production line and the installation of a cold rolling mill.
As part of a large-scale investment programme, over the last 10 years Alcomet spent 75 million euro in upgrading its production facilities, increasing its output nearly four times.
