November 29 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian hotel operator Albena [BUL:ALB] said on Monday that it turned a consolidated net profit of 7.6 million levs ($4.4 million/3.9 million euro) in the first nine months of the year, compared to a net loss of 6 million levs in the same period of 2020.
The company's revenue for the nine months ended September 30 rose to 77.4 million levs, from 53.8 million levs in the comparable period of 2020, it said in an interim financial statement.
Albena's total operating expenses went up to 69.7 million levs in the review period, from 59.7 million levs a year earlier, mostly due to higher expenses for materials and salaries.
The company said earlier this year it would open only 19 of its 32 hotels for the summer season, offering 8,440 beds out of a total of 13,716.
As at 14:55 CET on Monday, shares in Albena traded flat at 31 levs on the stock exchange in Sofia.
