August 29 (SeeNews) - The consolidated net loss of Bulgaria's Albena [BUL:6AB] widened to 20.2 million levs ($12 million/10.3 million euro) in the first half of 2018 from 11.3 million levs in the same period of last year, the resort operator said on Wednesday.
Albena's operating revenue decreased to 28.7 million levs in the review period from 31.4 million levs a year year earlier, figures from the company's interim financial statement showed.
Revenue from sale of goods rose to 9.1 million levs in the first six months of the year from 7.4 million levs in the prior-year period, while revenue from offered services grew to 11.2 million levs from 9.8 million levs the year before.
However, the company did not generate any revenue from sale of financial assets and instruments in the period under review, which compares to revenue of 7.9 million levs in the same period of last year.
Albena's operating expenses totalled 48.2 million levs in January-June, up from 41.8 million levs in the corresponding period of 2017.
Albena consolidates the results of 20 companies active in the tourism sector, three of which based outside Bulgaria - in Romania, Switzerland and Germany.
As at 12:55 CET on Wednesday, Albena shares traded 0.93% higher at 54 levs on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange.
