May 22 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's Agrola Ecoinvest is investing 5.3 million levs ($3 million/2.7 million euro) in the construction of a new fruit processing plant in the Ruse region, local media reported.
The construction of the plant, which will spread on 3,860 square metres, is expected to be completed within two years, local online news outlet Kmeta.bg reported on Thursday.
The investment will enable the company to close its production cycle, as it currently owns over 350 ha of orchards in the region.
Around 50 people are expected to be employed at the plant.
The project benefits from EU funding under the Rural Development Programme.
