April 12 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's AES-3C Maritza East I, the operator of coal-fired power plant AES Galabovo, said on Thursday it has signed a 4.4 million euro ($5.4 million) contract for the supply of spare parts for hydraulic equipment with Romania's Voith turbo.
The deal was signed on March 27, AES-3C Maritza East I said in a notice.
AES-3C Maritza East I is part of U.S.-based energy conglomerate AES Corporation. In 1999, a unit of AES Corporation purchased the majority interest in the Maritza East 1 project, renamed AES Galabovo in 2009. The company completed the full acquisition of the 600 MW thermal power plant from Ireland's Consolidated Continental Commerce Limited (3C) in 2005.
