February 8 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's trade deficit expanded to 6.8 billion levs ($2.5 billion/2.1 billion euro) in 2017 from 4.0 billion levs in 2016, preliminary data from the country’s statistical office, NSI, showed on Friday.
Exports increased 10.7% on the year, reaching 52.2 billion levs last year, while imports rose by an annual 15.4% to 59.1 billion levs, the NSI said in a statement.
In December alone, Bulgaria's exports edged down 0.9% year-on-year, while imports increased 14.7%.
