March 28 (SeeNews) - Sofia-based air carrier Bulgarian Eagle, a wholly-owned unit of Germania Beteiligungsgesellschaft, has filed a request with the Sofia City Court for launch of insolvency proceedings, commercial register data shows.
As at March 1, the company's outstanding liabilities amounted to some 12.8 million levs ($7.3 million/6.6 million euro), documents filed with the commercial register earlier this month showed.
Germania Beteiligungsgesellschaft is part of German group Germania.
Earlier this month, three companies from the Germania group - Germania Fluggesellschaft, Germania Technik Brandenburg and Germania Flugdienste filed for insolvency.
"Swiss airline Germania Flug AG and Bulgarian Eagle are not affected by this step," the German group said at the time.
Swiss airline Germania Flug AG is also part of the German group.
