March 27 (SeeNews) - A consortium comprising Bulgarian construction companies Hydrostroy, Vodstroy 98 and Patstroy Burgas will break ground for a 9.3-kilometre section of Hemus motorway on Tuesday, the regional development ministry said.
The future motorway section will connect the town of Yablanitsa some 90 km northeast of Sofia, to Boaza road junction further to the east, the ministry said in a statement on Monday.
The section of Hemus linking Sofia with Yablanitsa has already been built.
In July last year, Bulgaria awarded a 54.9 million levs ($29.56 million/28 million euro) contract to the tie-up, comprising Hydrostroy, Vodstroy 98 and Patstroy Burgas, for the construction of the Yablanitsa-Boaza stretch of the Hemus motorway.
Under the contract, construction works on the section must be completed within 730 days.
