January 14 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's National Railway Infrastructure Company (NRIC) said on Tuesday that it has awarded a 9.6 million levs ($5.5 million/4.9 million euro) contract for the modernisation of traction substation Varna to a tie-up between two local companies.
The tie-up comprises Bitumina GmbH - Bulgaria and T&D Engineering, NRIC said in a notice.
The deal was signed on December 13, according to the notice.
The tender for the contract attracted three offers.
According to registry agency data, each of the two companies holds 50% interest in the tie-up.
Bitumina GmbH - Bulgaria is a wholly-owned unit of Austria's Bitumina, while T&D Engineering is fully owned by private individual Dora Alexandrova.
