April 29 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian Telecommunications Company (BTC), operating under the Vivacom brand, said on Thursday that it completed the acquisition of 100% shareholding interest in local internet providers Net1 and ComNet Sofia, as well as in cable operator N3.
The acquisitions are part of the company's strategy to expand its fixed services coverage, BTC said in an e-mailed statement.

Net1, ComNet Sofia and N3, which have developed until now mainly as regional fixed services operators, have well-developed infrastructure and knowledge of the market at a regional level which will help BTC strengthen its leading position on the Bulgarian market, the company said.
BTC was acquired by Dutch-registered telecommunications services and media provider United Group last year. In March, Finland-based multinational communications and information technology company Nokia said that it has signed a deal with United Group to deploy a next-generation fibre network and in-home mesh Wi-Fi solution across Southeast Europe.
