August 1 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian telecommunications group BTC said on Wednesday it has launched a Voice over LTE (VoLTE) service which will add to the quality of calls in its 4G network.
The company has partnered with Swedish telecommunication company Ericsson for the project, BTC, which operates under the Vivacom brand, said in a statement.
The VoLTE technology provides for faster connection times, compared to 2G and 3G networks, high quality of calls and continuous, uninterrupted use of 4G mobile data during calls.
Last week, the Bulgarian unit of Norwegian telecommunications group Telenor said it plans to introduce Voice over LTE (VoLTE) service in its 4G network as of August 1.
On the mobile segment, BTC competes with the Bulgarian units of Norway's Telenor and Telekom Austria, as well as with 4G operator Max.
