SOFIA (Bulgaria), June 30 (SeeNews) - The Bulgarian Stock Exchange [BUL:BSE], the operator of the Sofia bourse, said on Thursday that its shareholders have approved an additional dividend of 0.4826 levs per share for 2021, bringing to some 6.8 million levs ($3.6 million/3.5 million euro) the total shareholder payout for last year.
The maximum amount of the authorised additional dividend comes in at 3.18 million levs, out of the net profit of 9.7 million levs for 2021, the BSE said in a stock exchange filing.
In October, BSE shareholders gave the green light to the distribution of a gross dividend of 0.55 levs per share, or 3.62 million levs in total, for the first half of 2021.
The BSE also said in the filing the shareholders did not adopt the management's proposal to increase capital. Under the proposal, BSE aimed to deploy 2.5 million levs out of its 2021 net profit to double its capital to 13.2 million levs from 6.6 million levs.
The overall dividend for 2021 represents 70% of the bourse operator's 2021 after-tax profit. The balance of 30%, or a little over 2.9 million levs, will be retained as additional reserve, the company added.
Shares in BSE traded 0.95% lower at 10.40 levs as at 1456 CEST on Thursday.
