February 1 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) [BUL:BSE], operator of the Sofia bourse, said that its standalone net profit dropped to 6.87 million levs ($3.81 million/3.51 million euro) last year from 9.7 million levs in 2021.
The bourse operator's revenue fell to 11.2 million levs in the period under review from 13.6 million levs, it said in an interim financial statement on Monday.
Turnover on the stock exchange's regulated markets declined by an annual 28% to some 313 million levs in the last quarter of 2022, while the number of transactions in the same period plunged by 38% to 18,694.
BSE's operating expenses totalled 4.3 million levs in 2022, up from 3.9 million levs a year earlier, driven by higher costs for salaries and hired services.
The stock exchange's market capitalisation reached 30.2 billion levs at the end of 2022, 0.93% higher compared to the end of September.
As of 1310 CET, shares in Bulgarian Stock Exchange traded 0.56% higher at 9.05 levs on the Sofia bourse.
