January 28 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian Stock Exchange [BUL:BSE], the company which operates the country's stock exchange, said on Friday that its non-consolidated net profit jumped to 9.7 million levs ($5.5 million/5.0 million euro) last year from 1 million levs in 2020.
The bourse operator's revenue rose sharply to 13.6 million levs in 2021 from 4.2 million levs a year earlier, it said in a financial statement.
Turnover on the stock exchange's regulated market trebled on a quarterly comparison basis to 434.3 million levs in the fourth quarter of 2021. The number of transactions increased 49% to 30,041.
The BSE's operating expenses amounted to 3.8 million levs in 2021, up from 3.2 million levs in 2020, mostly due to higher expenses for hired services and salaries.

On Friday, the bourse operator's own shares closed 2.81% higher at 9.15 levs on the floor of the Sofia bourse.
