March 17 (SeeNews) - The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) will win 31.5% of the vote if early parliamentary elections were held now, just ahead of their main opponent conservative GERB party which is expected to garner 31.2% support, a poll by marketing agency Afis showed on Friday.
Besides BSP and GERB, five other political parties will pass the 4% threshold at the March 26 snap vote to enter Bulgaria’s new parliament, according to the survey, conducted by Afis among 1,010 respondents across Bulgaria between March 12 and March 16.
Nationalist coalition Patriotic Front will win 9.9%, while support for the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS), which represents mainly ethnic Turks and Muslims, is 8.5%.
Volya (Will) party led by businessman Veselin Mareshki will receive 5.3%, according to the results of the survey published on the website of the polling agency.
Support for the coalition between right-wing Reformist Bloc (RB) and Glas Naroden (Voice of the People) party, which was formed on February 17, is seen at 4.4%.
Left-wing coalition ABV - Dvijenie 21 would receive 4.1% support - just above the 4.0% threshold required to enter Bulgaria’s parliament.
About 51.2% of voters were certain they would cast a ballot, while 20.4% said they won't vote, the poll showed. The share of undecided voters was 28.4%.
