December 6 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian River Shipping company [BUL:5BR] said that its consolidated net profit surged to 9.93 million levs ($5.34 million/5.08 million euro) in the first nine months of 2022 from 2.84 million levs in the comparable period of 2021.
Revenue jumped to 23.8 million levs in the nine months through September from 14.6 million levs a year earlier, the company said in an interim financial statement last week.
At the same time, operating expenses widened to 14.5 million levs from 11.97 million levs over higher cost of materials and increased remuneration expenses.
Bulgarian River Shipping, founded in 1935, transports cargo among the Danube river countries.
The main factor for the company’s income in 2022 will continue to be the intensity of trade between the countries of the middle and lower Danube region, the firm said.
As at CET 1352 on Tuesday, shares in the company traded flat at 0.68 levs on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange.
