August 17 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian leasing companies' claims under financial and operational leases totalled 4.491 billion levs ($2.7 billion/2.3 billion euro) at the end of June, up 5.1% on the year, the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) said.
Compared to the end of March, claims were 2.9% higher at the end of June, the BNB said in a statement on Monday.
Financial lease claims totalled 4.272 billion levs at the end of June, up by an annual 5.1% and 3.1% higher compared to the first quarter of 2021.
Operational lease claims increased by 5% year-on-year to 219.7 million levs at the end of June, and edged up 0.2% compared to the end of the first quarter.
The assets of the companies operating in Bulgaria's leasing sector totalled 5.40 billion levs at the end of June, up from 5.30 billion levs a year earlier.
There were 45 active leasing companies in Bulgaria at the end of June, one more compared to a year earlier.
