September 10 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's prime minister Boyko Borissov said on Monday that the coalition government has decided to propose Mladen Marinov, Petya Avramova and Aleksander Manolev to be appointed new ministers of interior, regional development and transport, respectively, replacing three members of the cabinet who had resigned.
Mladen Marinov is currently secretary general of the ministry of the interior, Petya Avramova is member of parliament, while Aleksander Manolev is deputy minister of economy.
"Regarding the resignations filed by the three ministers, on Thursday we will enter parliament and we have the majority to support all three," Boyko Borissov said during a press briefing, streamed live on his official Facebook page.
Valentin Radev, Nikolay Nankov and Ivaylo Moskovki, who held the portfolios of the interior, regional development and transport, submitted their resignations on August 31 over a bus crash which claimed 17 lives and left dozens injured.
"We carry the political responsibility," Valentin Radev said at the time, adding that there are many more people responsible for the accident but that he and his peers had obviously failed to organise work in the respective ministries well.
The reasons for the accident, which happened on the road connecting the capital Sofia to the town of Svoge in northwestern Bulgaria on August 25, are still under investigation.
