Under the privatisation contract, the consortium will have to keep the marketplace's business for 15 years and to invest 3.0 million levs in it. Located close to the international airport of Sofia, it is the main vegetables and fruit wholesale market in Sofia and western Bulgaria. Over 200 private companies operate on it.
Eighteen companies showed interest in the tender but only two placed bids.
