October 19 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian consortium Slatina Bulgarplod won a privatisation tender for a 100% of a municipality-owned marketplace in Sofia, offering to pay 75.4 million levs ($55.1 million/38.6 million euro), the municipal privatisation agency said on Friday.
"The agency ranked first the consortium Slatina Bulgarplod which will pay 75.4 million levs, 400,000 levs more than the asked price," the Sofia privatisation agency said in a statement.

Under the privatisation contract, the consortium will have to keep the marketplace's business for 15 years and to invest 3.0 million levs in it. Located close to the international airport of Sofia, it is the main vegetables and fruit wholesale market in Sofia and western Bulgaria. Over 200 private companies operate on it.
Eighteen companies showed interest in the tender but only two placed bids.
