October 26 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's business sentiment index rose in October on growing optimism in the manufacturing, construction and retail sectors, the National Statistics Institute (NSI) said on Friday.
The general business climate indicator rose by 1.6 points in October after falling by 1.4 points in September, the NSI said in a statement.
The industry sub-index increased 1.9 points in October as managers become more confident about the manufacturing enterprises in the next six months, NSI said.
Construction contractors are also more optimistic about the future of their firms with business climate sub-index in this sector rising by 2.6 points in October from a month ago.
Executives in the retail sector, too, are more upbeat about the current business condition and prospects for the next six months. Retailers expect their sales volume to increase the next three months. The sub-index in this sector rose 2.1 points.
The business climate in the services sector fell by 0.9 points in October, as managers are less confident about the current business conditions. However, they expect improvement over the next six months.
