January 2 (SeeNews) - The combined net profit of the banks operating in Bulgaria remained flattish at 1.53 billion levs ($723 million/649 million euro) in the first eleven months of 2019 compared to a net profit of 1.47 billion levs in the same period of 2018, the country's central bank said.
The banking sector's net operating revenue also remained unchanged year-on-year at 3.79 billion levs in the January-November period, the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) said earlier this week in a regular report on the performance of the country's banks.
Gross interest income of Bulgarian banks edged down to 2.76 billion levs in the review period of 2019 from 2.77 billion levs in the like period of 2018.
Gross fee and commission income rose to 1.20 billion levs in the period under review from 1.14 billion levs a year earlier.
The banks' total assets increased to 112.5 billion levs at the end of November, from 103.7 billion levs a year earlier.
