January 2 (SeeNews) - The combined net profit of the banks operating in Bulgaria increased to 1.47 billion levs ($860 million/752 million euro) in the January-November period of 2018, from 1.09 billion in the same period of last year, the country's central bank said.
Interest income of Bulgarian banks edged down to 2.77 billion levs in the first eleven months of the year from 2.79 billion levs in the like period of 2017, the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) said on Monday in a regular report on the performance of the country's banks.
Fee and commission income rose to 1.14 billion levs in the period under review from 1.05 billion levs a year earlier.
The banking sector's net operating income grew to 3.79 billion levs in January-November, from 3.50 billion levs in the corresponding period of 2017.
The banks' total assets increased to 103.7 billion levs at the end of November, from 95.8 billion levs a year earlier.
