February 23 (SeeNews) - The value of deposits by the non-government sector in Bulgarian banks rose 6.7% on the year to 67.8 billion levs ($36.55 billion/34.65 billion euro) by the end of January, the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) said on Thursday.
Corporate deposits by the non-financial sector climbed up by an annual 7.8% to 18.9 billion levs by end-January, after increasing by 6.3% in the previous month, BNB said in a monthly monetary statistics report.
Household deposits grew 6.1% year-on-year in January to 45.4 billion levs, compared to an annual increase of 6.6% in December.
