January 24 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria’s electricity production fell by an annual 15.8% to 3,046 GWh in the period from January 1 to January 22, the Electricity System Operator (ESO) said.
Domestic power consumption declined by 7.43% to 2,569 GWh in annual terms, ESO said in its latest weekly newsletter.
The country's power trade surplus went down by 43.34% on the year to 477.3 GWh in the period under review.
In contrast, the volume of renewable energy in the transmission network rose by 6.71% to 107 GWh, whereas the volume of renewable energy in the distribution system dropped by 19.79% to 103.2 GWh.
The output of hydropower plants sunk by an annual 55.8% to 137.1 GWh, the data showed.
