February 6 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria’s electricity production fell by 14% on the year to 5,180 GWh in the period from January 1 to February 5, the Electricity System Operator (ESO) said on Monday.
Domestic power consumption declined by 5.7% to 4,433 GWh in annual terms, ESO said in the latest issue of its weekly newsletter.
The country's power trade surplus slipped by 42% year-on-year to 746.9 GWh in the review period. In contrast, the volume of renewable energy in the transmission network grew by 4.51% to 163.7 GWh, whereas the volume of renewable energy in the distribution system dropped by 15% to 178.1 GWh.
The output of hydropower plants plunged by an annual 38% to 292.8 GWh.
