March 18 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's government decided to impose tougher nationwide restrictions aimed at limiting the spread of the coronavirus disease as of March 22 following a spike in the number of Covid-19 cases and hospitalised patients, health minister Kostadin Angelov said on Thursday.
Restaurants, bars, non-food retail outlets of over 300 sq m, shopping malls, kindergartens, gyms, casinos, cinemas, museums and art galleries will be closed and all students will attend classes online, Angelov told a news conference, as seen in a video posted by daily Dnevnik.
The restrictions will be in force for ten days.
As of Thursday, there are a total of 291,769 registered coronavirus cases in Bulgaria, including 230,457 recoveries and 11,715 deaths associated with the disease. Some 7,800 people infected with the virus are hospitalised, according to data published by the health ministry.
