January 11 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria will initiate by the middle of February a procedure for awarding a detailed development plan and technical design project for a section on a fast road connecting the Danube port city of Vidin with Botevgrad, a town in north-western Bulgaria, the ministry of regional development said.
The aim is to open the seven-kilometre section between the villages of Novacene and Skravena within half a year, the ministry said in a statement.
The construction of another section between the village of Ruzhintsi and the town of Montana should start after Easter, regional development minister Ivan Shishkov was cited in the statement. The construction of the rest of the sections is on track.
The value of the overall project for building a fast road between Vidin and Botevgrad will cost over 1 billion levs ($550 million/511 million euro), according to Shishkov.
