August 14 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's Road Infrastructure Agency (RIA) said on Friday it will invest about 58 million levs ($35.1 million/29.6 million euro) in the overhaul of a 31-kilometre section of the road between the village of Yugovo and the town of Luki, in Plovdiv region.
RIA will finance the road infrastructure project with its own funds, it said in a statement.
Works on the road section, to commence on August 15, will be carried out in two stages and are expected to be completed by the end of this year. They include repairs and strenghtening of the asphalt-concrete road pavement, installation of road drainage systems as well as an upgrade of road containment systems, road signs and horizontal road markings.
The third-class road is the only road link between the Luki municipality and Bulgaria's second-largest city of Plovdiv, the RIA noted.
