March 26 (SeeNews) - The Bulgarian prosecutor's office said that, acting upon its request, several government agencies have looked into the operations of local company Taxi Maxim, which manages two ride-sharing apps, and they are now in the process of imposing administrative penalties on drivers offering services through the app.
The vehicles of Taxi Maxim drivers who have committed administrative violations have been banned from use for a period of six months, the prosecutor's office said in a statement on Monday.
Acting on a tip-off from the prosecutor's office, earlier this month the Commission for Protection of Competition launched proceedings aimed at establishing whether Taxi Maxim's operations are in breach of the competition law.
Taxi Maxim operates two ride-sharing apps - Maxim and Taxsee Driver, since February 2015.
Taxi Maxim is a wholly-owned unit of Dominican Republic-registered High Technology Management Corporation.
