July 7 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria is expected to harvest between 4.0 and 4.1 million tonnes of wheat this year, the head of the National Grain Producers Association (NGPA) said.
The harvest will be impacted by dry weather, especially in the regions of Dobrich, Burgas, Karnobat, Nova Zagora and Yambol, Kostadin Kostadinov said in a video file published on the website of local TV broadcaster bTV on Monday.

In May, agriculture minister Desislava Taneva said that the country expects to harvest close to 5.0 million tonnes of wheat in 2020 and will maintain its position as a big net exporter of wheat regardless of the unfavourable agrometeorological conditions.
In 2019, Bulgaria harvested some 6.2 million tonnes of wheat, einkorn and spelt, according to data published by the agriculture ministry at the end of June.
